Open Gardens Success

The sun shone and the visitors came!

Many, many thanks to all the garden and studio owners for their hard work and for allowing us to see the results. We had lots of visitors from outside the village, some came quite a long way and everyone was impressed- I heard lovely comments all day as I made my own way around.

Once again I was struck by the amount of talent we have in such a small village- how many other villages this size could muster up seven artists showing such diverse and fabulous work?  As for the gardens, the sheer hard work and determination needed to wrest any kind of garden from such inhospitable ground and weather conditions as we get, let alone gardens to this standard, is quite beyond me.

The church did as great job with the refreshments- delicious cake!

The money raised will go towards the ongoing upkeep and running costs of the hall.

The children at the mini museum collected donations for Water Aid and at the last count had over £100, enough for two water pumps- well done.
