Auction, 14/3/12

The auction is back!!!!!!! For those who have not been to one of these before it is a fantastic event. We always have great donations, which this year looks like including a table & chairs, futon, nest of tables, folding bike, radios, a dresser, glassware, wok, steamer, plus assorted luggage items, bric-a-brac, children’s stuff etc etc….. more is arriving all the time and is excellent quality.( There may even be an opportunity for a viewing on Friday night when it has all been carted off to the hall- watch this space for details.) Of course there will be tea/ coffee and cakes to start off with while we all decide what to bid on and eye up the opposition- be warned, bidding can get a little heated on the popular items. I have had some marvelous things from past auctions and can’t wait for this.

UPDATE: there will be a viewing on Friday 13 th at 7 pm

Llandegai / Llandygai

A perennial question in the village concerns the village name. Many recent maps and official documents show Mynydd Llandygai, but some residents believe it should be Mynydd Llandegai–possibly the parish of Tegai.

To confuse matters further even road signs for the village differ:

Some prefer Mynydd Landegai…

…and one just can’t make its mind up.
