Please note: this calendar is an aide to those wishing to book the hall and, as such, only shows those events taking place in the hall itself; it does not include village events and meetings of clubs and societies that take place in other venues, e.g. choir, gardening club or church events and services. For these, please refer to the newsletter.
On this calendar, dates and times for clubs, classes and societies will be correct for the upcoming month. Future months are correct as far as we know but liable to change, so dates will only be put on the calendar for the upcoming two to three months. Private bookings and one-off events are shown as soon as possible after booking and are correct unless the hirer amends details.
Yin Yoga and Sound
June 28 @ 9:00 am – 11:00 am
Easy like Sunday Morning…

Sound baths help promote deep relaxation and mental clarity through the use of sound vibrations.
These sounds can help shift the brain from a more active state into slower, calmer brainwave states leading to deep relaxation and rest.
Some of the main benefits include reduced stress and anxiety, better sleep, lower blood pressure, and improved emotional wellbeing. Sound baths can also help regulate the nervous system by activating the body’s natural “rest and digest” response, helping you feel calmer and more grounded.
The vibrations created during a session can help release physical tension, improve circulation, and encourage the body to fully relax. Many people find that sound baths quiet their mental chatter, bringing a greater sense of clarity, focus, and inner peace.
Regular sessions can also support healthier sleep patterns and help the body recover more effectively from everyday stress. It is also believed that the vibrations interact with the body on a deeper level, supporting balance, energy flow, and overall wellbeing.
Yin yoga is a slow, meditative practice that targets the deep connective tissues of the body through long-held, gentle poses. We stay in each posture for several minutes, encouraging relaxation, flexibility, and a deeper awareness of physical sensations.
When paired mindfulness, yin yoga becomes a deep meditation. We learn to observe our thoughts, emotions, and bodily sensations without judgment, cultivating presence and equanimity. Benefits include reduced stress, improved joint and tissue health, enhanced emotional resilience, and a profound sense of inner calm.

Join basketmaker Karla Pearce to make a lovely Hen basket, also known as an Ose, on Saturday and Sunday, August 1st and 2nd in the village hall. This basket originates in the north of Scotland, where it was used to transport a broody hen to a neighbour who had eggs that needed hatching. A similar design on a larger scale can be traced back to the medieval times. More recently it came back into fashion when Brigitte Bardot carried one as a handbag in the 1960s!
Karla will guide you through the process of lashing together hoops (pre-made for you), inserting ribs, and weaving around them to enable you to create your own beautiful hen basket. The workshop will run 10:00-4:30 both days and all materials are provided. For more information and to book, please visit Karla’s website: www.makeabasketwithkarla.com
